What is the CEnT-S Exam?

The CEnT-S (Cognitive Entrance Test for Science) is an admission test designed for students who want to study in Italy in fields like pharmacy, economics, and engineering. It evaluates your knowledge and skills to ensure you are ready for university-level courses taught in English. The exam is especially important for programs that offer pharmacy in English, allowing non-Italian speakers to pursue their studies without language barriers. Starting from the end of November 2025,  the previous types of TOLC in English - English TOLC-E, English TOLC-I and English TOLC-F - are unified into a single test:  CEnT -S   (CISIA English Test-Sciences) valid for the areas of engineering, pharmacy, economics and other scientific courses.

Structure of the CEnT-S Exam

You can take the CEnT once in each of the following macro-periods:

• November, December, January ( first macro-period ) 

• February, March ( second macro-period )

• Registration Period: Universities are now accepting registration, and the calendar is constantly being updated.

• Repeat a CEnT: You can only book a CEnT  once per macro-period .From the day after the CEnT, you can book another one in the following macro-period.

• Cost: The CEnT costs 55 euros.

• After the CEnT: At the end of the test, you'll see a summary on your screen of the number of correct, incorrect, and unanswered questions; the same information can be downloaded in PDF format. The  final normalized result  will be available only  at the end of the macro-period  in which you took the test:

  • by January 30th for the first macro-period

  • by March 31st for the second macro-period

  • by June 30th for the third macro-period

  • by October 30th for the fourth macro-period.
